Old Town Back in the Market for a New Head Football Coach

Nat Clark has decided not to take the head football coaching position at Old Town.

The Bangor Daily News reports that Clark, who was approved by the school board last week, had a "change of heart".

It's now back to the drawing board to find a replacement for Steve Calande, who resigned in April after  two years at Old Town.  Calande took a head coaching position at East Catholic High School in Connecticut.

Clark has been an assistant coach at Bangor High School for the past three seasons.

Madison Memorial Names Scott Franzose New Head Football Coach

Scott Fanzose has been promoted from assistant to the new head coach of Madison Memorial.

Franzose replaces Matt Friedman, who left to take the head coaching job at Skowhegan.  Last year Madison Memorial finished 2-6.

Friedman Leaves Madison for Skowhegan

Matt Friedman is the new head coach at Skowhegan.

Friedman's new position leaves an opening at Madison Memorial.  Friedman spent the last three seasons as the head coach at Madison.

Friedman takes over for Mike Marston, who retired after eight season at the end of March.

Skowhegan's Marston Steps Down as Head Football Coach

After eight years as the head coach at Skowhegan, Mike Marston is stepping down.

Marston resigns with a 40-37 overall record with the Indians.  Last season Skowhegan finished 5-4.

Leavitt QB wins Fitzpatrick Trophy

Leavitt quarterback Jordan Hersom is the winner of the 41st James J. Fitzpatrick Trophy.

Hersom, who was a two-way starter for three seasons, was given the awarded Sunday.  The two other finalist for the Fitzy were Louis DiTomasso of Wells and Spencer Cook of Cheverus.

Hersom finished his career with over 6,500 all-purpose yards while leading his school to a 42-4 record in four years.
