Biddeford Tigers Have Opponents Seeing Double

by Jeff Fisher
Maine High School Football Huddle

Every team to play Biddeford this year is probably thinking its seeing double...times three! The Tigers have three sets of twins on this year's roster. Trevor and Tyler Parker are running backs and defensive backs; Alex and Erik Villandry play wide receiver and defensive tackle respectively; Jordan (tight end) and Will (offensive guard) Hevey round-out the doubles.

NFL's Giants and Packers Once Clashed in Maine

by Jeff Fisher
Maine High School Football Huddle

The 50th anniversary of the first and only NFL game to be played in Maine was celebrated Saturday during the Bangor/Skowhegan game played in Bangor. The New York Giants played the Green Bay Packers in a pre-season game on September 5, 1959 at Bangor's Garland Street football field. The Portland Press Herald takes a look at the historic event that marked the first-season of Vince Lombardi as the Packers head coach.

Last night, Bangor beat defending Eastern Maine Class A champ Skowhegan 41-12. Check-out the game wrap-up from the Bangor Daily News.
